You are not required to have a certification to become a postpartum or postnatal doula in any of the states or territories in Australia. There is also no restriction for you to have a degree from a college or university in order to start working with your clients.

This is a 2 day postnatal and birth doula training workshop. This curriculum is for women interested in becoming a complete doula with training that focuses on how to become both a birth and postpartum doula. The postnatal classes are taken online, while the birth doula workshop is taught in person. The workshop is offered on March 25-26, July 22-23, and Nov. 25-26, 2017.
