Being a certified birth or labor doula is not required in Maryland. You can operate within the state as an uncertified doula, however, there are many professional benefits to becoming certified. Furthermore, there is no requirement for a college diploma such as a bachelors of science degree to work in Maryland.
The following is a list of educational classes available in the state of Maryland which can be used for your doula training.  Some classes are mandatory to receive a certification, so please read the details carefully to determine whether the courses are a required part of the curriculum.
