Doula Training in Ohio

Ohio is a state which does not require you to be certified in order to operate.  There is also no requirement for a college diploma to work within the state.  Pursuing a certification will be viewed favorable by potential employers, however, it is not a state requirement.

The following is a list of educational classes available in Ohio which can be used towards your doula training.

Course and Workshop Details 

This is a 2 day birth doula training workshop which is required for DONA certification. Offered with the workshop are the Introduction to Childbirth class (1 day) and Breastfeeding for Doulas class (3 hours), both of which are also required for DONA certification.  These classes are offered on the following dates and times.

Take the first step towards becoming a Certified Labor Doula with CAPPA.  This eighteen hour workshop meets the first requirement of your CLD program and prepares you to work through the steps for certification. This course is designed to provide a foundational skill base, knowledge, and perspectives on professional labor support for perinatal professionals, as well as providing training for those seeking certification as certified labor doulas with CAPPA.

Erica Manto-Konya, As a perinatal professional who has been working as a doula for the last 10 years, my philosophy is that giving birth is a normal physiologic event in a woman’s life. Refund policy: If the trainer cancels the class, the entire fee will be refunded. All other cancellations will be charged a $50.00 processing fee. If the cancellation is made within three weeks of the class, NO refund will be given. With express written approval of the trainer prior to the original training date, payment may be applied to a training class given by Nurture, LLC within 12 months. (If applicant does not attend a workshop within 12 months, all fees are forfeited.)

This is a 2 day (20 hour) labor doula training workshop from Aug 6-7, 2016.  Completion of this workshop will fulfill the ProDoula workshop requirement if you are pursuing a labor doula certification.

The 2 day labor doula training workshop is $595.  There is a membership fee of $75 for the first year and $50 for subsequent years if you get certified through ProDoula.
